Dear overseas Singaporeans,
It is with much grief that we share with you the news of our Founding Prime Minister, Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s passing this morning on 23 March 2015.
Singaporeans will long remember and honour Mr Lee Kuan Yew for bringing the people together to build our nation. The remarkable leadership of the first Cabinet, with Mr Lee at its helm, laid the foundation for Singapore’s success as a peaceful, cohesive and prosperous nation that we proudly call home. For many of us, the passing of Mr Lee is a moment for us to pause and reflect on his indelible contributions to Singapore.
We understand that many of you would like to express your condolences for Mr Lee. Condolence books will be open at all Overseas Missions for overseas Singaporeans and friends during their regular office hours until 6pm (GMT +08:00) on Sunday 29 March 2015. You may also wish to express your condolences and share memories of the late Mr Lee at the official website:http://www.rememberingleekuanyew.sg/.
