During Chinese New Year, Singaporeans may feel homesick, especially when it is a regular school day. Spend the time with your overseas community. Singaporeans will be able to interact with fellow students from other faculties and from different years. They will be bonding over a meal as part of the Chinese New Year tradition. The event centers around the idea of family and community as the Chinese New Year meal is usually a family tradition. Durham CNY Celebration

Durham CNY Celebration

An annual event to celebrate a festival that no British would. Chinese New Year in the UK would appear to be a dull occasion without the familiar friends and family around. Thus, this is an important chance to bring together everyone for a celebration. Generally, we would have something similar to a food festival where lots of Singaporean delights would be available for people to enjoy and try. We also welcome students of other nationalities to join us for this joyous occasion and put up chinese new year decorations, play chinese new year music and also teach students of other nationalities our chinese culture via the bonding of singaporeans during this event.
