Yeah, the queues were amazingly long, especially for the more 'popular' dishes like chilli crabs. WOW. That was mind-boggling. I didn't even get a chance to taste that. ohmy.gif I'll need to get my friend to cook that for me now.

But, all-in-all, I thought it was still a great event. I mean, there will always be flaws. No event is perfect, but for me, I had my fair share of Singlish, PCK was just bringing the house down, and the tees' designs were so funny! Good weather too, it was fine and sunny.

Did anyone see the 2 IJ girls parading around in their uniforms? It brought back memories for me. laugh.gif

Big thanks to the organisers and volunteers! It's not surprising that everything was so smooth-going.

I miss you all, Singaporeans!

also for entertainment

can have the more traditional one or not...
like the shadow show lah...or malay dance lah...

all pop songs type...hmm...abit boring leh...
if the theme is about old times...then those stuff more relevant
and especially for singapore children that are overseas...things like 5 stones, zero point, marble..more fun lah...

hi,

I cannot agree with Angela more.

The queue for food was horrendous, and the portion is so tiny.

It is either they charge the food are have some kind of a coupon/ration where one person can take 2 portions at a go. There must be a way to do this.

As for the extension to the evening part, I cannot agree more. But perhaps this is a family based event it is hard for the organizers to make that call.

I must give a BIG Hand to the organizers and all the helpers for a fantastic job!

got to agree is fantastic...
but when we were leaving, we saw alot of food wasted...

chatting with friends, we were thinking...

1) can this event extend till evening...so we can have like satay club feel..or lao pa sa feel
2) maybe next year can charge for food so don't waste and no need to queue too long...charge like $2 for a good serve plate of hokkie mee or the usual $0.30 per satay sticks...we already travelled the distance don't think majority of us will mind paying the singapore equivalent hawker centre price for the food...

I was at the Sinagpore Day held in melbourne it was dashingly super FANTASTIC. The show was a hit and the officials on duty were just magnificient.. very warm, friendly and down to earth.. a true blue singapore attitude... and very service orientated... it was very emotional with some of the songs sung at the event... especially.. 'Pulang Marilah Pulanglah Bersama-sama"..... once again a big thank you to Singapore for such a hearthwarming event.. I love Singapore and my thoughts are always at home in Singapore.... :)

Wat travel package? how come I didn't see any package at all?

QUOTE(Sydney Angela @ Aug 26 2008, 04:27 PM) *

Please arrange for the package to be available at an earlier date.

The travel package for Melbourne in my opinion came too late.
