Singapore Personal Access (SingPass)
Singapore Personal Access (or SingPass) allows you to transact with over 60 Government agencies online easily and securely.
Managed by the Government Technology Agency (GovTech), the SingPass system is reviewed regularly, and there are many on-going security enhancements to ensure that a secure SingPass service is delivered to our users.
Over the years, SingPass was enhanced to include an improved user interface, mobile-friendly features and stronger security capabilities. such as 2-Factor Authentication (also known as 2FA) for digital transactions involving sensitive data.
2FA is required to perform transactions involving sensitive data, such as viewing CPF statements and filing taxes. You can choose to register for SMS 2FA, OneKey Token, or both.
Note: Only Singapore-registered mobile numbers can be used to register for SMS 2FA.
If you are still living in Singapore, we recommend you to register for a SingPass account and set up your OneKey token 1 month before you leave Singapore.
1. To register for a SingPass account, it will take up to 4 working days (local address) / 7 working days (overseas address) for you to receive a mailer containing your SingPass password.
2. To register for OneKey token 2FA, it will take up to 7 working days (local address) / 10 working days (overseas address) for you to receive a 2FA PIN mailer and OneKey token separately.

As announced in March 2018, GovTech will be rolling out the SingPass Mobile app as an alternative mode of 2FA (on top of the existing SMS and OneKey token) later this year. Sign up on OSU's mailing list to receive updates on the SingPass Mobile app via email.

Dual Citizenship and National Service (NS) Liability

You will also have to register for NS when you turn 16.5 years old. On turning 18 years old, you will be enlisted to serve full-time NS at the earliest possible opportunity.
Singapore does not recognise dual citizenship. If you decide to retain your Singapore citizenship on turning 21 yeas old, you will be required to renounce your foreign citizenship.
